Talent Analysis:
Pietrangelo possesses a big 6'3 frame. He mixes his size advantage with a strong skill set that makes him a dangerous defenseman. Pietrangelo has excellent on-ice vision and a high hockey IQ. His offensive upside is tremendous, with his shot, mobility, and creativity with the puck. Very successfully can quarterback a power play. Additionally, he is solid in his own end, with good positioning, and excellent defensive instincts.

Talent Analysis:Wilson is an instinctive player blessed with a wonderful combination of size, power and elite-level skill. However, his greatest attribute is his tremendous hockey sense. Wilson thinks and understands the game remarkably well for such a young player. What sets him apart from other collegiate freshmen is how he is able to utilize his hockey sense to better the team around him regardless of which zone he is playing in. His great on-ice vision and awareness allows him to anticipate and make very good reads on developing plays.

Talent Analysis:
Cowen is huge by junior standards and has become comfortable with imposing his size on opponents. Mobile for a player of his size, he is capable of contributing more offensively. His reach and strength enable him to dominate opponents physically in junior hockey. Spokane Chiefs management continues to marvel at Cowen’s commitment and work ethic. He has been paired with veteran Jared Spurgeon (NYI) on the Chiefs’ blueline for most of his two seasons in the WHL.

Talent Analysis:
Blum demonstrates outstanding mobility and often takes the initiative to carry the puck up ice. What makes Blum so good is his explosive skating ability. Because he is not very large, he uses technique and a good poke-check to wrestle the puck away from opponents. He has amazing ice presence and is very rarely caught out of position, a key aspect of being an NHL defenseman. Blum still needs to work on his strength and body size, because being less than 170 pounds as a defenseman hardly bodes well for anyone in professional hockey.
